Class 2 Maths Homework – 1st March 2019

Maths Homework for Class 2 – Friday 1st March 2019.

We have been learning about money this week. The children have had opportunities to add money together and find the change. To help support their learning, please give children opportunities to help you when shopping. Allow them to buy their own items and calculate the change before approaching the tills. Another way to support their learning is to use this free website.

Class 2 have a wormery!

As part of our Science topic of Living things, we have a wormery in the classroom complete with around 40 Tiger (composting) worms. The aim is to observe how they live under the ground and hopefully, move them into a composting bin after 4 weeks.

The children really enjoyed spending time looking at the wormery, and trying to spot where they were hiding. We looked at some of the trails they had made already.

Can you spot any?IMG_2157 IMG_2158

Class 2 celebrate Chinese New Year.

As part of our topic on China, Class 2 have been learning about the traditions of a Chinese New Year. They have made red envelopes, but instead of putting money or sweets inside, they wrote messages to each other. In keeping with the tradition of not opening the envelopes in the presence of the giver, the children have taken them home to read.  We also made lanterns.
